A Bores Easter

Where does the Easter Bunny eat breakfast?

You Got Dyed!

....IHOP!

My girl Ellen, shared that joke on Classic Joke Monday, so I can't take credit for it. Mr. B didn't think it was very creative. In fact, he thinks the bunny should eat at the "Candy Bar" instead. Of course, he always has beer on the mind.

Anyway, I am sitting here listening to the wind whip through the trees in anticipation of this late winter storm moving through. With Spring comes Easter, but with Colorado comes snow. Our weathermen anticipate 6-12 inches tomorrow and it's April 8th. April, I said. Oh well, we need the moisture, so I won't complain.

I digress.

Easter was full of friendly love around the Bores House. My family, of course, was enjoying time well spent in Pennsylvania. My in-laws were strolling the River Walk in San Antonio. And my brother and sister-in-law were working overtime. So needless to say, Mr. B and I were on our own. Thankfully we had some friends in town. One who recently moved to Cheyenne [about an hour north of us] and one who is in town to complete a job in the Denver area, but both are from our home town. It is always nice to see familiar faces and it was the perfect excuse to host Easter Dinner.

Easter Guests
The Set-Up

Mr. B was up early to smoke the ham, while I slaved in the kitchen baking casseroles, scalloped potatoes, and angel food cake. If you know anything about my cooking skills, you probably wouldn't be excited to eat at my house. However, when boys are hungry, boys will eat. Plus, they had no idea I lack experience in the kitchen and I don't think they noticed (whew!). The boy in Cheyenne lives off of frozen chicken patties and the other had plans of eating Easter Dinner at the McDonald's drive-thru. I can assure you, I may not be the next Iron Chef, but a home-made meal beats a Big Mac any day!

Food Coma

As for the dyed eggs - I love coloring them and Mr. B likes eating them. To get a sneak peak of what our Easter tradition looks like around here, watch this short film created by the Mr.

Monty gets me every time. I just love that dog!
